About "Black, Unfortunately"

I am Black, Unfortunately. No really, I am. If you looked up "black culture" on Wikipedia, I'm more than sure there's a picture of me as an example of what isn't "black". I enjoy just being who I am and not limiting myself to someone else's expectations of me.

I've always had trouble identifying with "black culture" and "the black community". I don't get "the struggle", "hustlin'", or any of that. The "black culture" labels me as white.

That's what they call it. I just live. I enjoy being around all sorts of people and spend my time with legitimately interesting people. I love playing guitar, listening to post-punk/progressive rock/metal. I love challenging people and being challenged. I love writing. I enjoy getting out and being social.

And that's why I'm glad to be posting a blog where my personality can be expressed and share myself as a... I suppose, ethnically confused person. I'm beginning to expand ideas and generate conversation with people about things that they've honestly always wanted an open forum to talk about. I'm glad that I get the questions and comments that I do and gladly welcome any that come.

And, of course, I enjoy the humorous side of it all. It's suppose to be funny. Anything can be funny. Nothing should be held sacred in comedy. I love being ironic and posting these crazy conversations and having these jokes at my expense. I've always known how to laugh at myself. And everyone should know how to at some point in their life; this is the only one we get.
